Water and the Cretan Bowl Diet…
This Water page is from the Cretan Bowl Diet website that offers easy weight loss diet tips to help you lose weight easily and without hunger pangs.
Based on the Cretan Diet this simple diet for weight loss is effective and easy to follow.
 NATURAL WATER |
Drinking water is so important for good health and drinking plenty can help you lose weight when following the Cretan Bowl Diet.
Here on the Greek Island of Crete, home of both the Cretan diet and the Cretan Bowl Diet the water is plentiful and pure.
Bottled spring water comes from the magnificent White Mountains and the Samaria Gorge.
This picture of natural flowing spring water was taken by my husband when we hiked the Samaria Gorge together. We made frequent stops along the longest gorge in Europe to drink water from the springs. So natural, pure and refreshing!
Do yourself the biggest favour and start drinking plenty of water today. Many people suffer from dehydration and are not even aware of it.
Dehydration
DRINK WATER TO AVOID DEHYDRATION |
Symptoms of mild dehydration include:
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Dry mouth
- Little or no urination
- Muscle weakness
- Dizziness
- Light-headedness
- Lower back pain
- Constipation
A strong odour to your urine, along with a yellow or amber colour indicates that you may not be getting enough water.
 SPRING WATER TASTES GREAT! |
Thirst is an obvious sign of dehydration and in fact, you need water long before you feel thirsty.
Even mild dehydration — as little as a 1 percent to 2 percent loss of your body weight — can sap your energy and make you feel tired.
Your body is estimated to be 70 percent water.
Your body needs water to regulate body temperature and to provide the means for nutrients to travel to all your organs. Water also transports oxygen to your cells, removes waste, and protects your joints and organs.
The Cretan Bowl Diet recommends that you drink 3 litres of water per day to help you lose weight.
 LOSE WEIGHT EASILY |
This may seem a lot if you are not used to it but you must remember that you will be taking at least one hour of fairly strenuous exercise per day and therefore losing water through sweating.
You’ll also be flushing out toxins from your body and wanting to feel more energised.
Other benefits of drinking enough water are:
Helping you lose weight
Increased water consumption can help you control weight by preventing you from confusing hunger with thirst. Water will also keep your body systems working properly, including metabolism and digestion, and give you the energy (and hydration) necessary for exercise.
Gaining a healthy skin
Drinking water moisturises your skin from the inside out. Water is essential to maintaining elasticity and suppleness and helps prevent dryness.
Flushing toxins
By helping to flush toxins, appropriate water intake lessens the burden on your kidneys and liver.
Staying regular
Water helps prevent constipation by adding fluid to the colon and bulk to stools, making bowel movements softer and easier to pass.
Reducing disease risk
Water can help prevent kidney stones and reduce your chances of getting bladder, kidney, and urinary tract infections.
