Starting your weight loss diet plan...

This Weight Loss Diet Plan Page is from the Cretan Bowl Diet website that offers weight loss tips to help you lose weight easily and without hunger pangs.

Starting your weight loss diet plan on the Cretan Bowl Diet, based on the Cretan Diet is simple.

Getting started on the Cretan Bowl Diet

Start now and lose weight quickly and safely on the best slimming diet with a little help from slimming tea.

A standard sized cereal or soup bowl is the only piece of equipment you need for this slimming diet.

The recommended Cretan Bowls are just perfect.

But any bowl you have already will be OK. You completely fill your bowl three times a day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will not need to snack as you will be satisfied with your main meals.

Click on this Shopping List link to give you an idea of how to begin the Cretan Bowl Diet.

Breakfast Bowl

Completely fill your breakfast bowl with any combination of fresh fruits. Top off with a few nuts or seeds if you like. Look at the food list for inspiration and try to vary each day your Cretan Bowl Diet breakfast.

Under no circumstances skip breakfast. If you cannot face breakfast first thing in the morning at say 7.30am – eat it later at 9.00am or even 10.00am.

Whenever you choose to eat breakfast is fine.

Missing breakfast will not allow you to become slimmer sooner – just the opposite will happen.

The total amount of fruits in your breakfast bowl should be around 12 ounces or 350grms. A handful of additional nuts should not exceed half an ounce or 15grms.

Lunch

Almost fill your bowl with any combination of any salad vegetables. Dress the salad with olive oil and lemon juice or wine vinegar, salt, pepper or herbs to your liking.

Add a portion of protein like cubed roast chicken, tinned tuna, a couple of hard-boiled eggs or some cubed hard full fat cheese.

You can throw in a few sunflower or pumpkin seeds if you want to. Try as much as you can to buy the bulk of your shopping as fresh seasonal, locally grown produce (preferably organic).

This is not just a green environmentally sound life style choice but also the produce usually contains more nutrients.

The total amount of salad vegetables in your lunch bowl should be around 12 ounces or 350grms. A handful of additional seeds should not exceed 1 ounce or 25grms. Around one and a half tablespoons of olive oil should be added.

The protein amounts should be 200grms (7 ounces) of cooked meat, poultry with bones or 150grms (5 ounces) of boneless meat, poultry, fish or shellfish. Cheese should weigh around 50grms (just short of 2 ounces). Or alternatively two large eggs can make up the protein amount.

Dinner

Almost fill your bowl with any combination of any cooked vegetables (excluding potatoes and sweet potatoes). Cook the vegetables in any way you like with olive oil. Bake, roast, fry, sauté, stir fry or steam. Add seasonings such as herbs spices, garlic, salt and pepper to your liking. Add a portion of protein like a chicken breast, large pork chop, good-sized steak, fillet of fish or any seafood.

Cook the protein in any way you like and use olive oil. Again you can bake, roast, fry, sauté or stir fry the protein adding your wine allowance to add flavour if you choose to.

Liquids

You absolutely MUST drink three (yes three!) litres or six pints of hard tap water or bottled natural spring water a day. This should be unflavoured still water. This is addition to any water you drink in the form of the Cretan Bowl Diet slimming tea or herbal tea.

You can have one glass of wine (125ml or just over 4 fluid ounces) with your evening meal if you choose to per day. If you want to save up your wine allowance by missing a day or two don’t exceed three glasses in any one day. Because drinking wine is renowned for lowering resistance to temptations, more than three glasses is asking for trouble!

Exercise

SLIMMING DIET & EXERCISE
To make any slimming diet work you need to exercise. During the Cretan Bowl Diet you absolutely MUST do some form of exercise for one hour per day. This can be split into 3 twenty minute sessions, 2 half hour sessions or one full hour.

This exercise should be in addition to your normal day to day activities. Brisk walking, swimming, running, dancing or any combinations of exercise that makes you slightly breathless is perfect.

You may think that you cannot spare a full hour each day devoted just to exercise - but you can! You can make time by getting up earlier for starters. When you eat only healthy food and exercise daily you naturally have far more energy than junk food addicts and couch potatoes.

You may not need as much sleep as you did pre Cretan Bowl Diet and can use that saved time to exercise.

Lose Weight
LOSE WEIGHT EASILY

By looking carefully at the ways you use your time and making exercise a top priority to lose weight you can easily find an hour. How many of us sit in front of the TV or computer for 3 or 4 hours each day, simply wasting time?

Even if you are a busy parent with child care responsibilities or a full time worker or just lead an incredibly busy life you can incorporate one hour’s exercise into your daily routine, if you choose to.

Remember you can split the hour into 3 twenty minute sessions or 2 half hour sessions to make things easier for yourself.

Personally I like to take a full hour’s walk first thing in the morning before breakfast. That way I get it out of the way and know I can have the rest of the day for other things.
